Father's Day

Got word a few days ago that Elena will be ours on Sunday June 19th - Father's Day (not the 20th as we had thought) Too cool! We'll leave Shanghai at 8a.m., arrive in Fuzhou around 10:00 and then we will meet her in the afternoon. More important than that, it's my mum's birthday. (at least I'll be able to remember the day now).

25 days until Gotcha day!

We met Ana on June 19 as well, five years ago.

The Kids: Ian, Eric, Patrick and Grace

First off, there's Ian. He's 15 (almost 16) years old and is one of the nicest teenagers you'll ever meet. He and his cousin Alex just completed their Bronze Cross and Medallion and are just waiting to do their National Lifeguarding once they are 16. Until then, Ian will continue to volunteer as he did last summer (earning him 250 volunteer hours) towards the 700 he needs for a small scholarship for University. Ian's an amazing big brother to 3 (soon to be 4) siblings with us, and 2 others at his dad's. He's a very popular guy - all the kids fight over him.

Next is Eric. He's 8 and a sports enthusiast, now subjecting us to hours of the sports channel on TV. This may be better than Barney, but just marginally so. He has a charitable heart and always ensures the feelings of others are just (if not more) important than his (except his siblings of course).

Patrick is a sweet 5 year old who is very responsible always doing his best to "out do" his older brother. He LOVES his little sister (maybe too much sometimes) and has a beautiful disposition.

Grace will be 3 at the end of June. She is a firecracker. She joined us at 16 months and already talks circles around her brothers. She never misses a beat and is one of the smartest children I've ever met (I can brag, I had nothing to do with that).

We are waiting to bring home Elena who turned 18 months on April 8th, and that will complete our family...honestly..no more this time.
